The Sami dwellings that were once used during church visits are today a beautiful attraction
Lappstaden
Lappstaden is Sweden’s largest preserved Sami church town. In Lappstaden, there are over 80 huts and sheds from the end of the 18th century which are still owned by Sami families. The last weekend in August every year, Lappstaden is used for real during the Great Assembly Weekend, a Sami church festival.
